pyramid earth

god hannah takes the stairs. it was so good.
and i watched the last scenes of funny ha ha through a window and glowed a little inside. i adore. can't wait for more from bujalski.
god i am itching to make some films but i am also feeling like the style i would've been filming in has become hackneyed thanks to "mumblecore" (not complaining). and i wrote the first draft of a script today. it is like 3 pages long and i am calling it statues for now. hope it grows.
i also saw the puffy chair today which was so cute and wonderful and full of great acting and great camera work and i am so happy that finally american independent is doing something newer than a lot of other countries. that is a general statement of course, but i feel that there's a tendency to put down all american cinema because of hollywood. but the same people seem to forget the hugh grant films that come out of britain. everywhere has a hollywood.
the quiet city trailer was the first in a long time that i watched and actually gasped and itched and said, "i have to watch that movie."
tomorrow (today, rather) i get to see aaron katz, and joe swanberg, and greta gerwig (and possibly interview her over the phone?) at the soho in-store.
also, i hate to sound like all those indie-snobs i fucking hate but it sucks that, after that times article, people seem to want to force definitions onto these films, want to group them and define them just to "get them". please.

i am happy. i love this city.
