Today I got my Eternal Sunshine script (<3), which led me to binge-spend money on science of sleep (eternal sunshine was sold out! duh...), cometbus, and human nature - the first gondry-kaufman! but a few obstacles stand in my way: the miss furr + miss skeene essay and 'weatherman, WEATHERMAN' for structure & style. damn!
Today I almost went down to interview Lach (YES! LACH OF SIDEWALK'S ANTIHOOT!) but I'm so fucking busy! Damn!
My scarf is still unfinished :(

So Human Nature was really weird and really kaufman with a little bit of gondry in the mix. You could really see the little Michel Gondry humour with the sex and the french and the mice, his little inventions with the mice's dinner set and the stars in the sky. oh but he's come so far! once in a while, a text/movie will come along that explores many of the themes in my (unwritten) novel and I'll scrap everything in anger thinking, why the hell am I so unoriginal?! But it didn't happen here, even though savage vs. civilized, character removed from culture, basic instincts/human nature are all basically things I write about - and it didn't happen because I felt the portrayal of nature vs. concrete here was too, well, concrete. Too black and white. Too naive. I liked the movie though. But not the best from kaufman + gondry - the beginnings that led to the masterpieces. And Spike Jonze was the producer! THAT IS THE HOLY TRINITY! okay.
