I just saw The Breakfast Club and it was sooo good. So good. Very well acted, very good screenwriting, very well-rounded & relatable characters. Truly a classic. AHHH! So good. Even the clichés were good. Sigh ... I can't even say what I want to say. Everybody knows it's a good movie anyway. What I especially liked about it was that it was so true! That and the characters were really relatable - you couldn't fully side with one and you found parts of yourself in each and every one of them - well-rounded characters. Stereotypes are used very often in the movie they are needed in order to be disproved. So good - watch, watch, watch!
Dear Mr. Vernon,
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But, we think you're crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But, what we found out is that each one of us is a brain and an athlete and a basket case, a princess and a criminal. Does that answer your question?
Sincerely yours,
The Breakfast Club.

Middle Of Nowhere has become my favourite Hot Hot Heat song. Yes, it beat out all the other amazing songs. It's a very heart-raising tune:
And it's really weird because this is the least 'Hot Hot Heat-y' of their songs. It doesn't really have that 'words playing with the music' wordplay that makes the songs so good! But you can just tell that Steve Bays wrote it from the belly of his heart in all earnestness and desperation. Heehee ... I mean what I'm saying.
Oh and Michel Gondry's brother (Olivier Gondry) directed the Goodnight, Goodnight video :)
I <3 <3 <3 Gondry. Genius! In fact, here's the White Stripes' 'Hardest Button To Button' video, which he directed:
It's so simple. But just think how much planning goes into it, how much attention to detail ... really: genius.
The man himself:
Why have I not seen Science of Sleep?
