Eyes Red Like A Riot

14 is a bad luck number and now it's 15 so I'm okay. We should call it February 13A.

Bad Luck:
- my radio show was butchered yesterday when the internet stopped working circa 3am and I had to run around trying to fix things. ahh! + my archive has like 15 minutes from the guy before me ... so if you download it, it's not me until you hear the moldy peaches. i played roscoe holcomb yesterday, which made me so happy! but my name is still FrancIs on the site. it's a pet peeve I don't think many understand unless their common name is constantly butchered!
- my fucking article, godammit. I'm going to see how edited it is tomorrow. hopefully it's okay ... I've just had bad bad luck with certain hands in the past. lead stories are hard to do!
- yeah, the day didn't rock. I woke up at 1:30 with my contacts still in and my eyes red like a riot. not fun. then it's all trip slide shuffle fall freeze water knees ... please? But I fucking love the snow.

It all turned out just about fine. Nora and I made our way down to NYU territory to see Ching Chong Song & Jeffrey Lewis! The Asian American Heritage month committee disrupted Ching Chong's set because of their offensive name. So now they're called Church of Lurch (they're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky, they're all together ooky ...). I had no idea how offensive it was. I guess coming from hong kong all these words were thrown around and accepted. but not here. also I've become so desensitized to racial slurs after being called a "black ghost" and laughed at for 7 years. *shrugs* ... but they're set was good! and the Jeff lewis Band played a great set - arrow, chelsea hotel oral sex song, roll bus roll, don't be upset ... some of my favourites! i got guff #2! now I'm only missing #3. twas le bomb. and there were excellent vegan cookies there!

Yeah. Now I'm not asleep at 3:30am. STRIKING AGAINST THE WAR TOMORROW (she says, with the dreamers right under her nose).
