Clean Stick Of Gum

I've been reading so long that I've lost sight of the real world. A bit of Montaigne, Shakespeare, Stein, and readings from the film packet. Just a little bit. I am nowhere near done but I feel good.

The English major allows me to take 2 creative writing classes - helloo narrative forms & short prose forms! - so my worries are somewhat curbed. Film reqs are still a bitch. At least 6 classes every semester for the next two years & definitely no philosophy.

And my dad got pissed today when I suggested I wouldn't double major: "why go to columbia to study JUST english?" he's probably right. and i am double majoring. but not in english & bio. oh this is going to be like the times i had to tell them I didn't want to be a doctor, i didn't want to go to stanford ...

jesus christ of nazareth.

re-reading hamlet is so much fun! fire burning in the brain, picking up new signals, remebering the old, evoking agamemnon, artistotle, oedipus, THE LION KING, love loving shakespeare. at the risk of being an eng lit cliche, i am love loving shakespeare.
