L'auberge Espagnole & Russian Dolls
Both pretty good but too cliche for me in many parts. It rekindled my desire to be an au pair in Paris for a year and learn French, to study abroad in London, to go to every famous city in every country and see, see, see because I am obsessed with cities. Cities and photobooths. And trees. That's what it was (sorry for my train of thought): both movies were too normal. A story that could happen to anyone but not in a good way. I like it when normality is emphasized such that it becomes artistic (Quadrophenia) but these two movies are Nick Hornby and not Virginia Woolf. And after just saying that, I'll also say that it was too abnormal. A squiggly but cute writer makes out and has sex with EVERY GIRL IN THE MOVIE, has a friend in EVERY CITY HE GOES TO ... everything just works out ... woohoo! I guess I'm disturbed by that normal-abnormal awkwardness. Otherwise, they're both good movies with some excellent parts.
So I didn't go to the parade and everything is closed and Kim's won't give me my $150 until after 3-5 days so my black friday is ruined though I've been told that black friday is bullshit anyway unless you like being packed in tights spaces with tweens and middle-aged housewives that love to fight over 50% off woolly jumpers.
Plus I don't want to go shopping for black pants until I lose some weight.
Still. I woul really have loved to go shopping.
I want a huge-ass parka as my uber-winter-jacket!
Heehee ... love that super-word.
And I want me some Russian Dolls ... les poupées russe!
